Yevka’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

My favorite go to chocolate chip cookie recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cold and cubed

  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

  • 2¾ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (do a mix of chips and chunks if you’re feeling extra)

  • Optional: flaky sea salt for sprinkling

How to make:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl or stand mixer, cream together the cold butter and both sugars until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).

  3. Add in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients — just until combined.

  5. Fold in all that chocolatey goodness.

  6. Scoop big cookie dough balls (about ¼ cup each) and space them out on your baking sheet.

  7. If you’re feeling fancy, sprinkle a little flaky sea salt on top before baking.

  8. Bake 10–12 minutes until the edges are golden and the centers still look slightly underdone — trust the process.

  9. Let cool on the pan for 5–10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack (if they even make it that far).
